Does Uplifting Education give official transcripts?

Yes, official transcripts are available for any completed course including parent led courses utilizing any of the Uplifing Education programs. Transcripts include grades based on online generated time/grade reports and/or approved parent's documented record of effort, hours, abilities, offline activities etc.. Credits and grades can be based on mastery, time, and/or testing. One credit is the equivalent of one year of study. Only full credits or half credits are accepted.

All we need is some kind of report to back up the transcript. We can use the Compass Learning grades as well as other credits such as:

  • past school record or courses taken
  • parent created course with record of time spent and short description of activities (like the World and I Spanish course, a Kahn Academy course, or a Discovery Education video series etc.)
  • a test result such as CLEP, AP, etc.
  • individual research and/or reading on a topic of interest
  • co-op class
  • service project
  • group activities with scouts, church groups, sports team, etc.
  • record of a project you may of done in Renzulli (or offline) with time spent and description.

There are a number of ways to earn credit so ask about other proposals

Generally speaking, a credit is worth about 150 - 180 hours. Send us what you have and what credits you think your child deserves and we'll send back your transcript or questions concerning it. We will make the transcript based on what you provide for us.

Does Uplifting Education give High School Diplomas?

Yes, for any student completing a minimum of 5 credits from the Uplifting Education enrollment and the required number of credits in each subject. (See the chart here.) Credits for courses done before Uplifting Education enrollment may be approved based on the parent's documented records.

Compass Learning Odyssey has partnered with Escience Lab. Hands on lab materials and lessons are available for purchase. These materials are not required to do the online science lessons. They can be used as an additional supplement for a science lab requirement. Individual Lab assignments can also be found by doing a search on the Renzulli Learning System.

The World and I online resource is available to you and you don't have to pay anything to use any of the lessons. There is a teacher's login that you will receive to access the Teacher's Corner lessons.

The Renzulli Learning System is available to you. The first thing your child does is complete a survey type program. After that, whenever you do a search or access a lesson, activities are generated based on your child's learning profile. Some activities or books etc. may cost something but they are all optional.

All the programs in the enrollments are for your use and how you use it, why, when, and how much is up to you.

If you enrolled in the Complete Academic enrollment, there is writing support and a number of elective courses available for $180 for a one semester course or $340 for the two semester courses.. Go here to see the list and description of courses available for this extra fee.

Is Uplifting Education accredited?

Even though we are not accredited and therefore not bound to an agency's policies and required topics, the curriculum we use is created by highly educated curriculum experts. Our goal is to empower the parents and support their choices in their child's education. For more information on accreditation, read this. The fact is many public and private schools across the nation are not accredited.

This website states:

"There is no national list of accredited public and private high schools that I could find."

"The unaccredited status of a school district should not have a negative impact on a student’s admission to a college or university. [Because] higher education institutions typically consider multiple sources of information."

"Students who graduate from an unaccredited school district should still be eligible for any scholarship for which they would otherwise qualify."

Can Uplifting Education be a solution for special needs students?

The term "special needs" is a broad term and can be applied to a variety of learners. The best way to know if it's best for your child is to look at the samples and sample the curriculum. Our enrollments have helped a number of special needs students.

Does Uplifting Education support or promote a particular religion?

Uplifting Education does not advocate any particular spiritual or religious belief. Our curriculum is used by public and private schools alike. Our goal is to empower the parents and support their choices in their child's education. See our Mission Statement

The “Discovering the Real Me” curriculum is written for public education and therefore does not support any particular religion. However, it does create an opportunity for parents to give their feedback to the questions and mention their beliefs while doing the curriculum.

The “World and I” has materials to teach about World Religions. Again, it does not promote any one religion.

Do you have monthly enrollments or financing available?
